The DiGiCo Quantum 225 is a compact 48/96 kHz digital mixing console with 72 input channels, 36 aux/group buses and a fully processed 12 × 12 matrix. It has 25 touch-sensitive motorised faders and one 17-inch high-brightness multi-touch screen.
Quantum processing
The standard feature set includes 24 Mustard processing strips, 32 Nodal processors, Spice Rack processing and True Solo. Channel and bus processing, snapshots, macros and flexible surface layouts make it suitable for touring, theatre and corporate systems without overstating it as a solution for every show.
Local and remote I/O
Local connections comprise eight mic/line inputs, eight line outputs and two AES input/output pairs. The console also provides MADI connectivity, a 48-channel USB MADI interface for computer recording and playback, and two DMI expansion slots.
Dante is optional. A DMI-Dante card provides 64 × 64 channels at 48 kHz or 32 × 32 at 96 kHz, with primary and secondary network ports. Without that card, the console does not gain Dante audio simply by being connected to Ethernet.
Remote DiGiCo racks can connect through MADI or optional Optocore, depending on the system configuration. The stage rack, interface cards and transport cabling therefore need to be specified with the desk.
Planning the hire
Quantum 225 supports 48 kHz and 96 kHz operation. Confirm the sample rate before preparing show files or choosing interface channel counts. Optional Pulse software increases the channel and bus capacity, so do not assume a hire desk has it unless it is listed on the quote.
