The EM Acoustics DQ20F is a four-channel, 2U Class-D system amplifier with onboard DSP. It provides up to 1,500 W per channel at 8 ohms, 3,000 W per channel at 4 ohms or 5,000 W per channel at 2 ohms. A bridged pair can deliver up to 10,000 W into 4 ohms.
Those ratings are load-dependent maximums, not a reason to connect any cabinet indiscriminately. Loudspeaker impedance, power handling, wiring and the correct EM Acoustics preset determine how the amplifier should be configured.
Inputs, outputs and processing
The DQ20 platform has four analogue inputs, two AES3 digital inputs and four processed outputs. Dante audio is available only on units fitted with the optional Dante interface; an Ethernet control port alone does not carry audio.
DSP runs at 96 kHz and includes routing, gain, delay, high-pass and crossover filters, parametric and shelving EQ, phase control and loudspeaker limiters. Factory presets cover EM Acoustics loudspeakers, while system EQ and delay remain available for venue optimisation.
Four speakON NL4 connectors provide the amplifier outputs. Analogue and AES3 inputs have XLR link connections for passing signals to other amplifiers.
Rack and mains requirements
The amplifier is 2U high, 357 mm deep including handles and rear support, and weighs 12.5 kg. Mains enters through a 32 A powerCON connector. The power supply accepts 85–240 V AC, but the supply, connector and distribution must be specified for the expected load; a standard 13 A outlet should not be assumed suitable for every application.
Front-to-rear fan cooling needs clear airflow. Allow additional rack depth for the 32 A mains connector, signal cables and four NL4 outputs.
