The IPD 1200 is the small end of the IPD range, and it earns its place on a hire list for the same reason it earns its place in a rack: one unit of height, two channels, and a network port so it can be set and watched from somewhere other than behind the amp.
The power figures, as they come
- 500 W per channel into 2 Ω
- 600 W per channel into 4 Ω
- 300 W per channel into 8 Ω
- 150 W per channel into 16 Ω
Which of those numbers applies is a question about the boxes, not the amp — so the useful thing to tell us is what it is driving and how they are wired, rather than a wattage.
Inputs and control
Analogue and AES inputs, and a network interface for remote control. If you are running the system from a laptop, the network side needs planning with the rest of the control network rather than as an afterthought — one more device, one more address.
What goes out with it
On our own hires the IPD 1200 travels independently with SpeakON Cables, SpeakON couplers and XLR charged separately .
What to tell us
- What it is driving, and the impedance each channel sees.
- Analogue or AES in, and where the signal is coming from.
- Whether you want it on the control network, and who is configuring it.
- Speaker cable lengths and whether you need couplers.
- Rack space — 1U each, so tell us how many and we will rack them.
We can supply them loose or racked with the cabling and distribution, and the larger IPD 2400 is available if the channel count or the power is the constraint.
