The Shure SLXD4DE is a dual-channel digital wireless receiver. It delivers two channels of 24-bit audio in a single 1u rack unit and works with compatible SLX-D transmitters in the same frequency band.
Audio and RF performance
Shure specifies a 20 Hz–20 kHz audio range, transmitter and microphone dependent, with 118 dB dynamic range. Digital predictive-switching diversity is used for RF reception. Tuning bandwidth is band-dependent, so the receiver and transmitters must carry matching band designations.
Each channel has balanced XLR and ¼-inch outputs. The XLR output can be set for microphone or line level. The receiver does not provide Dante audio; its Ethernet port is for network control, frequency coordination and monitoring through Shure Wireless Workbench or ShurePlus Channels.
Setup and coordination
Group and channel scan finds suitable local frequencies, and infrared sync transfers the selected channel to each transmitter. For multi-receiver systems, connect the receivers over Ethernet before scanning; Shure recommends a network switch for three or more receivers.
A scan is only part of coordination. Other radio microphones, in-ear monitors, television channels, LED processors and local licensing conditions must also be considered. Tell us the venue and date so frequencies can be planned for the actual job.
Antennas and power
The SLXD4DE uses two 50-ohm BNC antenna inputs. Larger racks may need antenna distribution and remote antennas rather than separate whips on every receiver. The receiver is powered from an external 15 V DC supply and consumes up to 600 mA.
