The Shure UR4D is a dual-channel diversity receiver from the legacy UHF-R analogue wireless system. Our K4E units tune across 606–666 MHz, but that does not mean every frequency in the range is available for use. Frequencies and licences must be coordinated for the venue, date and country.
Two receiver channels in 1U
The UR4D houses two independent receiver channels in a 1U rack unit. Each channel provides balanced XLR and unbalanced ¼-inch audio outputs, with individual metering and controls on the front panel. Infrared sync transfers the selected frequency and settings to a compatible UHF-R transmitter.
Antenna distribution
The receiver uses detachable BNC antennas and supports antenna cascading, allowing several compatible receivers to share an antenna pair within Shure’s stated limits. Larger systems may still need dedicated antenna distribution, remote directional antennas and correctly specified coaxial cable.
Antenna placement and RF coordination matter more than the number printed on the receiver. Keep receiving antennas clear of metalwork and LED equipment, maintain line of sight where practical, and scan the local spectrum before assigning channels.
Compatibility and licensing
UR4D must be paired with compatible Shure UHF-R transmitters in the same frequency band. A K4E receiver will not work with a transmitter from an unrelated band simply because both carry the UHF-R name.
UK programme-making and special-events frequencies are regulated and availability changes by location. We will not assume a frequency is legal or clear: tell us the exact venue and operating dates so the system can be coordinated and licensed where required.

We can supply the receiver as part of a coordinated rack with transmitters, antennas, distribution and audio cabling. UHF-R is a discontinued platform, so it is best chosen when compatibility with an existing UHF-R system is specifically required.
