The Yamaha DM7 is a 96 kHz digital mixing console with 120 mono input channels, 48 mix buses, 12 matrices and two stereo buses. Its surface combines 28 motorised faders with two 12.1-inch touchscreens and a separate 7-inch utility screen.
I/O and networking
The console has 32 local analogue inputs and 16 analogue outputs. Built-in Dante provides 144 inputs and 144 outputs through primary and secondary network ports. Two AES/EBU input and output pairs include sample-rate conversion, and an 18 × 18 USB audio interface supports computer recording and playback.
Dante channel capacity is not the same as physical local sockets. A job needing more than 32 local inputs requires suitable Dante stage boxes and network cabling. The primary and secondary ports can support a redundant Dante design when they are connected through separate network paths.
Operation and power
DM7 includes extensive channel processing, scene recall, automixing and routing tools. Show files should be checked against the console firmware and any optional software features before the event.
The desk has dual built-in power supplies with separate locking AC inlets. It measures 793 × 564 × 324 mm and weighs 23.5 kg outside its flight case. Allow sufficient FOH space for the case, rear connections and ventilation.
